I recently had the opportunity to attend a conference in the Dunadry Hotel, Antrim and met some great local photographers and also got some new inspiration from a photographer called John Denton who is a bit of a guru when it comes to lighting, photography and no doubt many other subjects. His session was well received and was delivered in an enthusiastic and very entertaining manner. If you haven't checked him out you should. Anyway fresh out of the starting blocks I thought I'd have a go at a bit of off camera strobe work so here's a couple of pics from today. These were all shot handheld, jpeg and edited with snapseed.

Some abstract shots from today of a crane parked up in the docks in Belfast. Edited with my favourite bit of software these days snapseed.
I recently purchased a copy of Nik Software Snapseed after trying the demo version. Like everybody it's hard to find time to edit images everyday that I've captured so to simplify things I thought I'd buy it before the price goes up as I suspect that this time next year it'll have increased slightly with more end user functionality and will become more widely used by amateur photographers.
Clearly it's not as powerful as Lightroom and Photoshop products but for $20 it's a brilliant product and a joy to use. If I get more time I'll try and do a quick review on here. In the meantime here are a few images that were shot handheld with my Nikkor 50mm and Nikon D3000 as jpegs and then edited in Snapseed. Everyday I see something I want to photograph and the benefit of having a great camera phone is you ever have to miss the opportunity.
Captured with HTC Sensation and edited, very quickly may I add in Snapseed. |
